Seven Sages AIFamily CornerBack to S7

Teachers

S7 stories are an easy way to start classroom conversations about values, scientific curiosity and personal safety. Everything here is free.

A 20-minute story session

  1. Warm-up (2 min): draw seven stars in seven colors on the board and ask who has ever seen the Big Dipper.
  2. Story (8 min): read one story aloud, with lots of expression.
  3. Talk (6 min): ask questions from the Talk Guide.
  4. Activity (4 min): a short activity for that sage, from the list below.

Play "Real or Trickster?" aloud as a class: children raise their hands for "It's OK" or "Shade trick." It's a way to talk about safety without frightening anyone.

A classroom activity for each sage

  • Maple: Thank-you wall: make a thank-you card for someone who works at the school.
  • Zest: Rainbow lunchbox: how many colors are in your lunch today? Each child names one food and its color.
  • Quill: Mistake day: each child shares one mistake that taught them something.
  • Fern: Everyday courage: talking to a new classmate or asking a question in class. Each child picks one small brave thing.
  • Orbit: Seven colors in white light: make a rainbow with a glass of water or an old CD in the sunshine.
  • Wren: The truth path: discuss small "tell the truth or hide it?" situations together.
  • Pip: Make a story: in groups, pick a place, a sage and a small problem, and invent a short story.
